Four Cubs Farm is a 5th generation, family owned dairy farm located in Grantsburg, Wisconsin and is owned by Gary & Cris Peterson and their son Ben. The farm has been in the Peterson family since 1877 when it was homesteaded by Gary’s great-grandmother. The Peterson’s mission is to develop a farm that is a profitable, attractive symbol of American agriculture – and their number one goal is to have fun doing it.

Over the years the farm has diversified! Ben and his wife Nicki opened Brickfield Brewing in downtown Grantsburg in 2018. They have a Grain to Glass brewing concept where the farm grows barley to be custom malted for brewing and feeds the spent grains from the brewing process back to the farm’s cows!

In 2022 Gary, Cris, Ben and Nicki along with Gary & Cris’ daughter, Caroline, and the farm’s herd manager, Nathan, founded Brickfield Market. The farm-to-fork food company is currently focused on selling beef that is raised at Four Cubs Farm and operating a food truck with a focus on beef, dairy and menu items made with Brickfield’s beer! Beef can be purchased online or at the brewery’s taproom.

Building a symbol of American agriculture for

5 Generations

Four Cubs Farm was named in 1934 when a mother bear and four cubs spent two days in an oak tree in the front yard.

In 1965, Gary purchased the farm from his grandfather.  The farm expanded in 1998 from 40 cows to 250 cows when their son Ben joined the management team and through a series of expansions grew to its current size.
